How token usage works at amber

Every user gets a daily token budget for working with amberAI. If that budget isn't enough, there are several ways to get extra capacity – tailored to power users, automations, or entire teams. This article explains how the budget works, how to check your usage, and what options are available if you need more.


The daily token budget

Every user gets a daily usage budget of €10 for AI usage on the platform (chat, search, and assistants for everyday work).

  • The budget applies to both standard and premium models.

  • There is no pooling between users – the budget is non-transferable and can't be shared with colleagues.

  • The limit resets daily.

  • Once the daily limit is reached, you still have unrestricted access to standard models – only access to premium models is paused until the next day.

Standard vs. premium models

amberAI gives you access to a growing selection of language models from different providers. These are grouped into two categories:

Standard models (always available) You get unrestricted access to a wide range of powerful models – even after your daily budget is used up. These include GPT-5,6 Luna, GPT-5 mini, Claude Sonnet 5, Mistral Large 3, and more – models that are more than capable for the vast majority of everyday use cases. For your day-to-day work, you're always well equipped.

Premium models (limited) For especially demanding use cases, you also have access to top-tier models such as Claude Opus or GPT-5.6 Sol/Terra. These count against your daily budget and become available again the next day once the limit is reached.

You can see which models are currently classified as standard or premium in real time under your User Settings → "Usage" → "View pricing groups". This classification can change as new models are released.

Checking your current usage

You can check your daily usage at any time:

  1. Open your User Settings.

  2. Click "Usage" in the menu.

  3. Under "amberAI daily usage", you'll see your usage of today's token quota as a percentage, along with a link to the pricing groups.

The limit resets automatically every day – you don't need to do anything manually.

amber API usage

Every customer environment gets €10 of API spend included per month.

  • Admins can view API usage and remaining credit under Company Settings → "Usage".

  • If the included credit isn't enough, it can be topped up at any time via the "Request credit" button – our team will get back to you promptly.
